CITI Program Training

The Saybrook IRB, in accordance with federal rules, must verify that all Saybrook researchers complete training on human research ethics and compliance.  Saybrook University requires this training to be renewed every three years, and Saybrook researchers complete this training at CITI Program.  Your CITI Program course data is automatically sent to Mentor IRB and located in the Training Certification area once logged into Mentor IRB.

Saybrook University IRB requires every Saybrook researcher submitting to the IRB to complete the CITI Saybrook Researchers Basic Course, which satisfies the federal training requirement for three years.

Doctoral students must complete modules from the CITI Research Ethics for Doctoral Learners in their doctoral research courses.  These modules will satisfy elements of the required CITI Saybrook Researchers Basic Course, which is required for submitting an IRB application.

Guidance on How to Register for CITI Program Training and Selecting a CITI Program Course is located in the Resources area in the Saybrook University - Researcher Guides -> CITI Program Training and Certification subfolder.

Where is the Saybrook IRB Handbook?

Rather than a single static IRB Handbook, with the adoption of Mentor IRB, the Saybrook IRB is developing comprehensive IRB support as topic and process Researcher Guides.  All Saybrook IRB guidance materials are available in Mentor IRB.  Researchers new to the IRB should start with the Researcher Guide to the Application Process in Mentor IRB, which provides step-by-step instructions on creating an IRB application in Mentor IRB.  This guide is available from the Mentor IRB Info page (Home) and is located in the Resources area in the Saybrook University - Researcher Guides folder.  Login to Mentor IRB using the button above to access this information.
