Please note that the information presented within these pages is a summary of the most frequent questions and common errors and is not a complete list of all the guidelines presented in the APA Manual. Please refer to the APA Manual (7th ed.) for a complete description of formatting requirements and other guidelines for writing an APA-style paper. In addition, the information presented within these pages is designed is for student papers. For dissertations, thesis, projects, and capstones, please consult the
Saybrook Handbook of Format and Style (2020) in addition to the APA Manual.
In some instances, an instructor or department may alter the requirements presented in the APA Manual. In such cases, the requirements of the instructor, department, or course take precedence. Please consult your instructor and follow their guidelines.
