As you are searching for job opportunities a resume or CV may be requested.  What is the difference between a CV and a resume?  Use the information and resources below to determine if you should submit a CV or resume.

The purpose of a resume is to promote your skills. The average resume is 1-2 pages, depending on your industry. The resume's content should highlight  ​your skills and show a potential employer how your skills align with the required skills for the position, and it should be tailored to the job description for the work you are seeking.

Curriculum Vitae

A CV or curriculum vitae documents and promotes educational and professional experiences when applying for faculty, research, and post-doctoral positions.  In some cases, a CV may also be required when applying for grant funding to support research opportunities.  The length of the CV varies by industry but should provide the following information.
