Mission

The Anti-Racism Collaboration is guided by the Mission and Vision of Saybrook University dedicated to meeting challenges with a holistic perspective. Understanding the interconnectedness of various systems, we are a voice to articulate and confront the injustices that are witnessed and work together to make positive, substantive change in the world, starting with our academic community.

What We Do

Our Collaboration focuses on hosting a Monthly Speaker Series, providing a platform for speakers to further enrich our community with their expertise, lived experience, and social justice efforts.  Events also encourage internal growth for our participants through the use of smaller break-out discussions.

Who have we worked with

Starting with our own community, we kicked off our series with A Conversation on Racial Injustice within the Saybrook Community featuring our leadership, faculty, staff, and students.  We’ve also worked with Dr. Orlando Taylor who discussed Dismantling White Supremacy in Higher Education, followed up by Decolonization is Not a Metaphor: Myths and Misunderstandings of Decolonial Praxis with Drs. Mary Watkins, Sunil Bhatia, and Cutcha Risling Baldy.  We continue to feature and amplify these important conversations and welcome you to join us by registering for our next event!
