Requi​​​​r​ed Resources

The following resources provide the official requirements expected of Saybrook students when submitting their work. Note that specific requirements provided by your instructor will take precedence over those outlined within these sources.

  1. The Saybrook Handbook of Format and Style (2020) is required for dissertations and thesis publications. In any cases where the handbook conflicts with APA, the requirements of the handbook take precedence.
  2. The APA Manual (7th ed.) is currently not available for free. However, it may be purchased from Amazon or directly from the APA website, which contains digital versions. Below is the reference information.​​​

The Center has developed an APA 7 Student Paper Template and an APA 7 Dissertation Template to help students get started with implimenting APA formatting into their Word documents. Embedded within each template are instructions on how to use Microsoft Word.
